The Federal Skilled Trades Program is for people who want to become permanent residents based on being qualified in a skilled trade.


Red Seal Program

The Red Seal Program is the Canadian standard of excellence for skilled trades. Formally known as the Interprovincial Standards Red Seal Program, it sets common standards to assess the skills of tradespersons across Canada. Tradespersons who meet the Red Seal standards receive a Red Seal endorsement on their provincial/territorial trade certificates.

The Red Seal Program is recognized as the interprovincial standard of excellence in the skilled trades. The program was established more than 50 years ago to provide greater mobility across Canada for skilled workers.
